The Faery of Chrome & Mirrors
A Midsummer Night's Dream

As a sophomore in high school, my non-existant theatre department put on Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream. Because the theatre department didn't technically exist, the Wardrobe department also didn't exist. We were all charged with making our own costumes, and given guidelines with some artistic license. The faeries were all to wear a vest and boxer shorts over thermal underwear, kneepads, Converse high-top All Stars, and a funky baseball cap & belt that a friend of the director had volunteered to make. I was given the character of Faery of Chrome & Mirror, so everything had to be silver, grey & black. I also did my own makeup.

Front pose. I added a metallic silver tie and reflective circle sequins. I also swapped the thermal bottoms for a pair of metallic silver tights.

This shot was taken during the first scene the faeries appear. And hence begins my life-long love affair with Chuck Taylors shoes!
