Gingerbread Hobbit House #1 I've been wanting to start a Gingerbread Lord Of The Rings series, where every year I do a different location from the LOTR books. But I haven't had the time. This year, I even bought all the supplies to make the Hobbit House, which I figured would be the easiest of them all and therefore the best one to start with. But then I sat at my computer for 3 days in a row only to have Christmas Eve sneak up on me without even starting. So, I went out to my brunch plans, then had about 4 hours between that and my dinner plans, so I whipped together a quick little house. I took a disposable foil round cake pan and bent out the bottom to make it rounded (since I couldn't find my round-bottom pan, like for baseball cakes and such). I then made the gingerbread into a cake consistency, instead of the cookie consistency and baked it. Then I decorated it. I took no pictures of the baking process, since it's not a very impressive project, but I do have finished pictures. Click on the thumbnails below to see larger images.
