Howl-O-Scream Pictures
Howl-O-Scream is when Busch Gardens in Tampa, FL, turns the park into an elaborate Halloween theme park. This year, it was themed "My X", the story of a hard rock star turned psycho ex-boyfriend killer. There are several "haunted houses", several "scare zones" (which are sections of the park you have to walk through to get to the houses that have actors & special effects designed to scare you), and several shows - some serious/scary and at least one campy just for fun show. That's my favorite and it's called Fiends, which I worked as a spotlight operator one year. Most of the pictures are from that show, since you're really not supposed to take pictures inside the houses. One of the houses was called Alone and was a separate charge. The hook was that you actually went through the house alone, not shuffled through like cattle with all the other guests. The cost covered 1-4 people, so you could literally go through completely by yourself or with up to 3 friends, and the actors in the house interacted with you individually. I thought it had value and was worth paying extra to go through alone, but was not worth the cost for only 2 people. The cost divided among 4 people was a more reasonable price, I thought, especially once you add on the cost of the original HOS ticket. I enjoyed the experience, and I will definitely go on opening Thursday night again (no crowds or lines!). Click on the thumbnails below to see larger images. Please do not steal these images.
