Velvet Revolver

I worked Earth Day Birthday on May 7, 2005 in Orlando, headliner: Velvet Revolver. I was on the electrics crew, working as local labor for a company called Turn of the Century Productions. First of all, I only get called for TCP gigs when someone else is told to "bring someone" and the owner doesn't know it's a girl being brought. Second, when I do finally show up, TCP management seems insistant on "forgetting" that I'm an electrician and video tech, because they keep assigning me to Wardrobe or as a simple Pusher. I was put on Electrics and very quickly impressed the ME, but almost as quickly was "reassigned" by the TCP management. My ME had to keep searching for me because TCP kept pulling me off the electrics crew to push boxes out of the truck. Finally, the ME told the owner to quit reassigning me and that I was to be his personal assistant for the remainder of the gig. Should have shown them, right? Wrong.

During the Load Out, I was cut about 5 minutes before everyone else. The excuse was that since I had showcall, I could be part of the first cut. I took my time at my car, so I know exactly how long it took the rest of the crew to get cut. I was the only one who made the "first cut" ... and the only one not to get a crew shirt. Even though the TCP owner was reportedly seen carrying a box of extra crew shirts, when I called the office to get mine, I was told that they were short and that not all of the crew got shirts that night. So if anyone wants to get rid of a Velvet Revolver crew shirt, I'd be extremely appreciative.
