The Watchers Of The Inn Between

The InnKeeper is rarely without her Watchers, creatures who form a symbiotic relationship with the InnKeeper by caring for her and watching out for her and in return she cares and watches out for them. These Guardians choose, of their own free will, to join her quests for a time, often spending a good portion of their entire lives as her companions.

These Watchers often appear in the form you would recognize as "domestic cats". The InnKeeper has an affinity for cats, and indeed for animals of all kinds. Many cats and other animals freely befriend her and even choose to walk the same path for a time, but only some of them are Watchers who bond with the InnKeeper and keep watch over the Inn Between.
